The Fast-R's split midsole looks like a mistake until you run in it — the decoupled heel and forefoot let the carbon plate act as a lever rather than a stiffener, and the shoe genuinely propels you forward at pace. NITROELITE foam keeps it under 200g in most sizes. It rewards a midfoot-to-forefoot strike and forgives very little; try before you commit to a marathon in it.
First Stride lists EU sizing as the primary scale, with UK equivalents on each size button. Running shoes should have a thumb’s width of room at the toe — if you are between sizes, take the larger one. Wide feet should size up half in Asics and Nike.
